## Before you start

Metadata Translator and Price Parity work with your own App Store Connect apps. The current credential form uses a team API key with an Issuer ID; use a team key rather than an individual API key.

Ask your Account Holder or Admin for a team key with the App Manager role. If API access is not enabled yet, the Account Holder must request it first.

Note: A team key can access all apps on the team within its assigned role. Treat the .p8 file as a secret and never send it to support.

## Prepare your team credentials

1. In App Store Connect, open Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API → Team Keys.

2. Generate or select an App Manager team key and download its .p8 private key. Apple allows the private key to be downloaded only once.

3. Copy the Issuer ID and the Key ID for that same team key. Keep a secure backup of the private key.

## Connect inside ASO Engine

Saved credentials use this device’s Data Protection Keychain. This connection is not your Apple Account password and does not connect the public keyword-research app picker to your developer account.

1. Open Metadata Translator or Price Parity. If already connected, use the Credentials toolbar button (person with key badge) to view the connection form.

2. Enter the Issuer ID and Key ID, then choose your .p8 private-key file. The Key ID can fill automatically from a file named AuthKey_<key ID>.p8.

3. Choose Connect and wait for your apps to load.

4. Select an app from the tool’s app list or toolbar. The same saved credentials are used by both tools.

## If apps do not load

- Check that the Issuer ID is a UUID, and that the Key ID matches the selected .p8 file.

- Verify that the key is active and belongs to the team that owns the app.

- Check the key’s role and the permissions required for the action. Successful app loading does not guarantee every publishing action is permitted.
