## Install on your Mac

ASO Engine is a native Mac app for keyword research, competitor analysis, metadata translation, and territory pricing. The current release is free to download and use; no ASO Engine account is required.

You need macOS 15 or later. The download includes Intel and Apple Silicon support.

1. Download the disk image from the download page.

2. Open the disk image and drag ASOEngine.app to Applications.

3. Open ASO Engine from Applications. Use Settings → General → Check Now to check for updates.

## Add your first tracked app

1. Open Keywords in the navigation panel.

2. Open the tracked-app menu in the toolbar and choose Add App….

3. Search by app name, App Store ID, or App Store URL. Choose the storefront and the correct result.

4. With the app selected, choose Add keywords (+), enter one term or a comma-separated list, select the storefront, and choose Add.

Note: Start with a handful of relevant terms in one storefront. Public research does not need your Apple or OpenAI credentials.

## Connect only what you need

- Keywords and Competitors: research public App Store listings without an App Store Connect key.

- Metadata Translator: connect your own App Store Connect team and add an OpenAI API key for AI translation.

- Price Parity: connect your own App Store Connect team. An OpenAI key is not required.

Note: The app you track for public research and the apps fetched from App Store Connect are separate selections. Adding a tracked app does not connect your developer account.

## Choose your next step

Use these docs for app setup and button-by-button workflows. The separate ASO guides explain how to interpret research and choose a strategy.
