Frequently asked questions.

What is ASO Engine?

ASO Engine is a Mac app for researching App Store keywords, competing apps, and keyword rankings by country. It is made by independent developer Maicol Cabreja and is not affiliated with Apple.

Do I need to connect my App Store account?

No. You can research public apps, keywords, and rankings without connecting an account. Editing your own App Store listing would require separate App Store Connect authorization when that feature is available.

What can ASO Engine help me decide?

Which keywords deserve a closer look, which apps already rank for them, and whether your app's position changes over time. Popularity and difficulty are directional estimates, so use them alongside your own judgment.

Is popularity official Apple Search Ads data?

No. ASO Engine currently shows its own directional popularity estimate based on public signals. We label estimates clearly and do not present them as Apple’s official search-volume metric.

Are download and revenue numbers exact?

No. Any download or revenue figures shown in research are estimates, not verified sales reports. Use them to compare opportunities, not as audited financial data.

Is ASO Engine available on iPhone?

The first release is designed for Mac. An iOS version is planned for later, with a layout tailored to a smaller screen.
