App Store keyword research tool

Find relevant App Store search terms, understand the results, and build a shortlist you can act on.

Start with what a customer is trying to do.

Good App Store keyword research starts with relevance. Write down the jobs your app helps someone complete and the words they might type before they know your product by name.

Include broad category terms and narrower phrases that describe a real feature or outcome. A phrase is only useful when the people searching for it would plausibly want your app.

Compare opportunity with competition.

ASO Engine brings estimated popularity, difficulty, and your current rank into one keyword workspace. Use the combination to compare candidates instead of treating a high estimated popularity score as an automatic target.

Popularity and difficulty are directional estimates based on public signals. They are not Apple Search Ads search-volume data, and they do not guarantee a ranking or download outcome.

Open the App Store results before choosing a term.

Search the term and look at the apps already appearing. The result set tells you more about intent than a score alone: are the leading apps solving the same problem, or does the phrase mean something different to the searcher?

Repeat this check in the storefronts that matter to your app. A useful keyword in one country can have a different set of competing apps in another.

Turn research into a small tracking list.

Save the terms that are relevant, achievable, and worth revisiting after a listing change. A short list makes it easier to learn from movement than a spreadsheet full of disconnected phrases.
