Translate app metadata
Load your App Store Connect metadata, translate from its source language, and review each localization before updating it.
On this page
Connect and choose your version
- Connect App Store Connect and configure your OpenAI key in Settings → AI Model.
- Open Metadata Translator and choose your own app using the toolbar app picker.
- Choose a platform, version, and metadata field in the toolbar. The version menu also shows its status.
- Wait for metadata to load. The localization marked Source · App Store Connect is the translation source—not necessarily English.
Add languages and translate
- Choose Add Languages to add the supported App Store languages that are missing. The action is disabled once all are present or the selected version cannot be edited.
- Review the source text. Choose Translate all to translate the selected field into the target languages, or Translate on one target localization.
- Review the generated text, character counts, names, and product terminology. Shorten any over-limit values before publishing.
- If some languages fail, inspect their errors and use Retry Failed Languages when offered.
Update App Store Connect
Use Update on a localization to send the selected metadata field for that language. Update All includes the source localization as well as the targets; review every value first.
Progress and individual failures show what completed. An update changes App Store Connect metadata; it does not submit your app for review or bypass Apple’s publishing requirements.
Read-only versions and new versions
A read-only version can be viewed, but editing and update actions are disabled. Open the version menu and choose Create New Version… when available. Use a valid version number higher than the existing version; the app and Apple validate the request.
Check the new version’s fields before translating or updating. Creating a version is separate from uploading a build and submitting it for review.
